If you told me that my favorite party would be Minecraft themed, I would have looked at you like you were crazy! But Hands down, this is my favorite party I've thrown, EVER! It was so much fun!

Let's start at the beginning... everyone knows that a good party takes a lot of PLANNING! I start by pinning. I love being able gather ideas from brilliant minds all over the world. Making this post is my way of giving back to all of the creators who inspire me! I start by making a word document with the following categories: Invites, Activities, Food, Cake, Decor and Goodie Bags. I also plan the date, time, who is invited and a rough itinerary. For my balloon creations, I like to plan them out digitally since there is not much you can do about balloons until a few days before the event. All of this planning helps me get organized for phase 2 of party planning, GATHERING

The gathering phase, is the phase that seems to never end! Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Walmart, back to Hobby Lobby and I hit the Dollar Tree at least 5 times! By far, gathering all the things is the hardest part of throwing a party! Being organizing and having many lists can make this a little easier! After the planning and gathering comes the fun part! CREATING!

Invites: I made these using the preview app on my MacBook Pro. I just used images that I found online. You can do amazing things by simply copying and pasting!

Activities:

1) Diamond sword "sticker-by-number"

What you need:

-Foam Core (Dollar Tree)

-Blue Cardstock Pack (Michael's)

-Glue Dots (Dollar Tree, Amazon, Target)

-Exacto Knife

Cost: $15 to make up to 20

Trace a Minecraft sword onto Foam Core board. I could fit 3 per board. Cut them out, using an exacto knife. (Note: I printed and cut out an image of the handle to glue on, just to make things a little simpler for the kids.) Next, using a ruler, I drew the grid of squares and wrote the number key. Using my Cricut, I cut out 1 in squares, in 3 different shade of turquoise. This could be done fairly easily without a Cricut, since they are squares. I then attached one side of a glue dot to each square. The kids just needed to peel off the other side and press the square onto the right spot. This activity took great effort but the kids loved it!

2) DIY Mining Kits

You can occasionally find these at the Dollar Tree but it is hit or miss. If you make them yourself, you can make up to 50 for $25. Watch the video below for full instructions or go straight to the source who inspired me, Jonesing2Create by clicking here

I also used this awesome template to make each guest a personalized treasure box to store their gems. It takes a lot of work to put names on things like this but it does keep things a lot more organized during the party.  A sharpie works great for this concept as well! ha
