Candles Float on Halloween, Halloween, Halloween
We decided to invite our husbands to our monthly girls night for a Halloween couples party! It was such a blast!
The biggest component of this serving table back drop is made out of Dollar Tree plastic table clothes. You simply layer 3 on top of each other and cut long strips going from the bottom, to about 10 inches from the top. Then, braid the 3 layers for about 5-8". Once finished, I stapled it to my wall and tied the strips to the sides with pretty silver ribbon.
The floating candles may be my favorite part (and possibly the cheapest part!) of this entire party! They require empty paper towel rolls, hot glue, paint and these battery powered tealights from the Dollar Tree. Follow this link to the excellent video tutorial.

This photo backdrop was the perfect last minute party addition! Our guests (and ourselves!) loved having a place to document their creative costumes!
Easy Photo Backdrop Steps
1. Purchase fabric from JoAnn's- about $10
-It is 54" wide and I bought 2.5 yards (It can be found on the big round bolts in the back by home decor. The pre-coupon price is $7.99/yd)
2. Fold over the top about 3"
-Stitch straight across to make a casing for the rod
3. Insert shower curtain rod or a long wooden dowel.
4. Tie rope or string on either side of the rod.
5. Screw a hook into the ceiling (see pic below)
6. Decorate & enjoy!! I cut my bats and banner out of paper. I hot glued the bats in place and used safety pins to attach the banner. The tomb stones are from the Dollar Tree!
Costume Contest
Our guests came up with the greatest costumes! We had Bob Ross, Buddy the Elf, Vampires and even an Amish couple! Our contest categories were: Best couple, Spookiest, Most Authentic (meaning closest replica), Funniest and Most Clever. The winners got to take home these beauties!
I made these trophies from skeleton garland from the Dollar Tree. The garland came with about 5 skeletons. I cut the skeletons at different joints and hot glued them to make the desired body position. I purchased these trophies on amazon. Once finished, I spray painted them gold and hot glued the tags in place.
